Default Antique Shops in Hilo?

Aloha, I have been wondering about antique shops in the Hilo area. Do they compare to shops on the mainland as far as type of antiques, collectables. Do they specialize in more Island or Asian antiques? I didn't find the antiquing to be that great on Oahu, hoping it would be better on the Big Island.
Just found this board, have really enjoyed reading a little more about Island life. Any antique lovers out there? Aloha

Coconut Bay Trading Company

I met the owner of this store briefly when visiting the new "Hilo Bay Fine Food Emporium" which just opened on Kilauea Ave. (Click here to see their site: Hilo Bay Fine Food Emporium - Offering specialty, gourmet products and ingredients to Hawaii and beyond!) The stores are neighbors...

You may want to give him a call to "talk story" about the market for antiques in Hilo! I believe his store focuses on Asian antiques and pieces collected from his travels.

Oh sweet I didn't even think to ask about that! I'm more a browser than I am a buyer. I love looking at antiques!

Thank you all for the response, I have visited shops on Oahu but have never been to the Big Island. Whenever I make the move, Antiques is one of the business' that I have considered opening. Keep the insight coming. Aloha

It's not in Hilo but I seem to recall a pretty good antique place in Honokaa. It was a while ago (back in the 90's) and I'm not sure if it's still there.
