Default Public Middle & High Schools in Oahu?

The UH campus in Hilo is quite nice and plenty money has been released recently for continued additions and improvements. The community college campus, HCC, is an option as well.

Aloha Cynthia, we want to move to Oahu but need to find out first where the best middle and high school is because we have kids in that age group. We want to explore public schools first before considering private school. We love the windward side but have heard that there is no good schools there (except for elementary schools). Manoa Valley/St. Louis Ridge would be our 2nd choice if there are better schools there. Thank you so much for your opinions.

Jessica

Hi Jessica,

When I lived on Oahu, which has been a while ago now, I taught at a small private school in Ewa Beach, so my knowledge of Oahu public schools is very limited. (I did not work for the DOE until arriving on the Big Island.)

Those who live on Oahu now will probably be your best source of information about what is happening with the schools currently. There are also a few threads dealing with this subject farther back on the forum...those may be helpful as well.

With aloha,

Cynthia
