Default Oahu Schools Desparately Need Help!

We visited Oahu last week to explore the opportunity of moving there from southern CA. We drove all over the island from Waikiki to North Shores and then to Kahala. We were so disturbed and saddened by the thousands of tarps and permanent living quarters set up along the west coast outside Waianae. I read about the Japanese billionaire Genshiro Kawamoto and his good deeds. I think we need to solicit people like him who have the resource and power to make a difference. These people could help the schools, which alternately help the next generation, not just a few families. They could influence the politicians and make positive contribution to the community, improve life of the people. I am not good with politics and hate it. I just hope to contribute to the effort of improving the education systems in Hawaii.

Please share your thoughts.

That's one side of Mr. Kawamoto, he also kicked out many "average" families, who had been renting from him for years, out of his rental homes right before the holidays a few years back.

Here's a link to what Kawamoto did to some folks in Hawai'i back in 2004...
