Weather on Kauai
I saw a great thread about weather on the Big Island, with maps of rainfall (and lava flows, which of course aren't an issue on Kauai!). Does anyone know where to find similar maps for Kauai (temps, rainfall, etc.)? I know there are a zillion micro-climates and it really makes a difference where you live. Since I'm thinking of buying a home there, I'd love some more info about the climate in Koloa, Kalaheo, Puhi, Anahola, etc. Thanks!

Well, there's a possibilty it might rain, then again there's a possibilty it might rain heavily, of course there is always the possibilty of slight precipitation followed by the occasional downpour, and then there's always a pretty good probability of intermintent rainfall, follwed by periods of sporadic sunshine. Actually the entire state is in a drought situation right now, hasn't rained in Kihei for a long time. Sure you could google up the rainfall charts for Kauai.
Best of luck.
Aloha

I get lots of questions like "Doesn't it rain a lot on the North Shore?", so I've done quite a bit of research.
Here's a site that has pretty good data, if you dig. Look at the Almanac section, and history by month:
Princeville, Hawaii (96722) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground
Then there's this, for rainfall:
PRINCEVILLE RANCH 11, KAUAI, HAWAII USA Weather History and Climate Data
You have to click the "World Climate" link at the bottom of the page, and then search by city name. Lihue and Koloa work, but Poipu does not. Takes some patience.
When you get to a page with lots of city names, like this:
World Climate: N21W159 - Weather history for travel real estate and education
you can navigate north east south and west.
You can also navigate by latitude an longitude, by changing the numbers in the last link above.
Works for Disneyworld too (Kissimmee):
World Climate: N28W081 - Weather history for travel real estate and education

Great map
OK, I answered my own question. Here's a great map of all sorts of useful info about Kauai:
Design Associates: Kaua`i Physical Data Overlay Map
Not only rainfall, but sun, wind, trails, ag lands, roads and cities; you can turn on or off any combination.
