Default Household Shipping Companies

Aloha, I've tried searching this forum for the info I need but can't find it. My apologies if this is redundant.
We are moving to The Big Island w/in the year. We have decided on Horizonlines for shipping our vehicles but cannot find info on freight companies to ship a small quantity of household goods. I've been given info that some companies allow you to pack a pallet/crate and share a container for shipping. Can anyone provide info on a reliable companies that aren't going to break the bank.
Mahola, and again I apologize if this is a repeat question.

Mvn 2 Paradise is on a distinguished road
One person on here shipped 56 boxes USPS for $1500. Here is another post from this site about shipping http://www.city-data.com/forum/hawai...-services.html and another post that talkes about it is http://www.city-data.com/forum/hawai...ving-maui.html. We are planning the move too so I am keeping track of everything I find.

Where on the BI are you going. We are headed there as well from Oregon.

Good luck!

Just wondering why you're moving from Oregon to Hawaii? I've lived in Hawaii 12 years, my husband all his life, but I have major island fever! We're considering Oregon - have heard great things about it. Would love any feedback or advice.....Thanks!

Actually, we're moving from Enumclaw, WA, which is about 52 miles south of Seattle. The reason? I miss Hawaii and my S/O loves the beach. I lived on Maui for 4 years several years ago, was young and inexperienced. should never have left but I did. I've kicked myself in the 'okole ever since!
There is no other reason than the time feels right. Time to 'cleanse' this life we have created here, which is doing nothing but bogging us down. To many pets, to many 'things'. We have a few pets that will be rehomed, our home, my horse and piano to sell, oh well, we are still bringing at least 3 of our small dogs and my Cockatoo.. I've had 2 knee surgeries so I can't ride him anymore anyway and I'm packing my music so I won't have to replace it all. I'll pick up another piano after we settle. Everything else is replaceable except some of my garden tools which will be shipped.
We are finding the weather in the PNW very dismal. Can't find many people who are happy just to even get out of bed in the morning let alone be nice to others.
We live Aloha everyday. We want to be surrounded by it all the time. Smell the air, the flowers learn to eat poi. Mid=life crisis? Maybe. But I can think of worse things to do w/the rest of my life. It's time to relax and look forward to our days rather than dread them.
I suppose there are other deeper spiritual reasons on my part for wanting to return. I moved from San Diego w/in 1 month of my S/O moving from Ft Lauderdale, FL. It's been 17 years now. Time for a change and amove back to paradise.
Mahalo for asking.
Tony

Hawaii Beth is on a distinguished road
After 10 years here (Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and back to Oahu), I am moving back to the South East. My last move from Big Island to Oahu cost about $4000. The cars were the only reasonable rates. I could have moved to the mainland for the same price.
Soooo, this move to the mainland is being done via USPS and no cars. I'm selling all my furniture and mailing personal items of importance. Most of what I have was purchased at garage and estate sales and I'll replace it when I arrive. Many of the sales are military folks moving around but a lot of them are people who just moved here with lots of stuff they don't need.
Unless you are going to stay a very long time I suggest putting family heirlooms in storage and bringing the bare essentials.
