Default "TALK STORY" Hawaii Forum's Official Chat Thread

I’ve started a chat thread so folks can chat with each other either in real time or on a post-by-post basis. There will be no theme or topic. Feel free to chit-chat if you wish.

I’ve done this to hopefully keep the off-topic chat within a thread to a minimum. Please keep threads relevant to what is posted in the opening post.

Please take the chit-chatty type conversations on over to this thread.

Thanks.

Let's see if I remember story talking....Once upon a time there was a lttle hapa. here was a time when I lived with my mother's family in Damon Track, which is now Honolulu Airport. I was taken to the Mainland to have a "better life" , tisk tisk...now I have been offered a teaching position at Pahoa HS and was looking for pictures of the surrounding area. Perhaps pictures of the town, school and housing? Any information you could pass along as to where I might find someone in that district to "chat" with would be wonderful

Myqueen,

Look back a bit for some of the Puna, Hawaii threads and you will find a lot of discussion of the ins and outs, pros and cons of living in rural East Hawaii....

On the run, or I'd search them for you, but it should be easy to find....

Look forward to hearing your thoughts and questions.

With aloha,

Cynthia

It's disgusting and the really aggravating part is I'm sure it was done by someone too ignorant to grasp what horror the swastika represents. I've got a sneaking suspicion whoever did this is probably not an even "Aryan" type either, more likely would have been one of the Nazi victims.

i read that article, too.

also, racism does exist here. i.e. in today's paper, an article told of someone desecrating gravesites with swastikas.

The graveyard desecrations are probably being done by idiots, acting like, well, idiots. They had a similar problem about ten years ago on Oahu, especially up on Nuuanu Avenue, where some of the older graveyards are located. Never did find the a;;holes who were doing it, perhaps they have a sleepless night every now and then. Would like to think so.

Aloha and okolemaluna
What does 12 and 0 add up to??????
And have we finally driven Rocco lolo???

While that is horrible and I realize there is debate as to whether one CAN be racist if they are not the ones w/power in society, there is a great deal of racism towards white people as well
