cost of life food, taxis etc in Hawaii- Honolulu
Hey there!
I am going to a conference at the 10th of October at Honolulu and staying there for 7 days. My boss asked me to give him an estimate of my expenses there, including 1)taxis from waikiki (where my hotel is) to honolulu where the conference is held (so 2 taxis per each day) and 2 taxis from the airport to honolulu.I will be living at Queen Kapiolani Hotel, which is a two star hotel but seems quite decent, however 2)the opinion of someone that lives in Hawaii about it would be very useful..I will not have breakfast at the hotel so if u could give me an 3)estimate of breakfast, lunch and dinner cost per day it would be great!!
Thanks a lot in advance for your time!

Meals, you could get by on $5 B, $10 L and $15 D = $30/day.
If budget allows I'd plan for $10 B, $15 L and $25 D = $50/day.
I do not know what taxi's run, but you can catch a shuttle to/from the airport to your hotel. I would ask the hotel about it.
Where is your conference? If it's at the Hawaii Convention Center, you should be able to walk to/from the hotel.

i'm wondering if it might be cheaper to rent a car for a week rather than taking a cab to an from the airport and 2x/day?

Good idea! Just check that your hotel offers parking.
