As you can see in my username, I might rather be riding waves then competing with the likes of you over a forum from a city data website.
So good for you, you have a better "reputation" than me, but have you ever ridden a 8 foot wave in Tahiti? Or surfed inside a pipe in Gold Coast, Australia?
If you didn't, I wouldn't make you feel bad about it. Unlike what YOU like to do to people.
If you can manage to be bitter and angry and a bully on the internet while living in Paradise that is the state of Hawaii, then where and how can you possibly ever be happy?
But then again, your location says you live in Volcano, HI. And I would be unhappy if I lived there too. That is like the coldest rainiest place to live. Like in the low 60s and 50s in winter. And cloudy and rainy everyday. Damn. Try not to drown in lava. Learning to surf might help you when the lava comes to your house, but pecking insults on your keyboard doesn't do anything, but falsely boost your ego. But it is all illusory, and you know that. Don't you?

My noobyness?? LMAO! Oh dear....

Typical Americans who think they own every word. No offense to any Americans, Hawaiian-Americans, etc. But Howzit if YOU GOOGLE IT, the first thing that comes up is it being a popular and common South African term for "How is it". I'd say more people associate it with South African slang than Hawaiian.

Again, calm down and stop using the internet to make others unhappy like you. Being rude over the web is sooo passé, and telling.
Howzit, Surfer 778.
I noticed that you referenced South Africa and wondered if you are from there or visited? If so, do you have any "don't miss it" suggestions for a non-surfer? I will be there on a 17-day trip in April.
Thanks, Fm

I live at 1200 feet in elevation in Discovery Harbour and Na'alehu is lower in elevation, so there are differences.

This year it's been relatively cool and rainy. It's actually been in the low 60's in the early morning, and several nights I've had to close the windows. Daytime temperatures have been in the upper 70's. The good news about the rain is that it mainly falls at night (just like Camelot LOL). The other good news about the rain is that we don't have to irrigate our garden in the winter.

Different elevations in our neighborhood get different amounts of rain. We get more than the houses at the bottom at 800 feet, but less than the highway at 1800 feet. And Discovery Harbour gets more rain generally than Ocean View, if you are thinking of looking at that area.

Looks to me after reading this thread, that not only am I not alone in my thinking, but a consensus seems to be building about someone in these forums...

surfer778 - I got the joke in the original post and love the comments you later posted about Volcano.
No worries here.

See what did I tell you? Be careful Hawai'i grows on you. Today its small hawaiian words like pau hana and doing small hawaii activities like aloha fridays, bringing your fins to work so you can swim after, using words like aloha, mahalo, pau hana. Then before you know it you will be saying howzit, shootz, den kine, uncle, auntie etc your english will start taking on an odd accent. At the same time your skin will get darker from the tan of the sun. The most strange thing will also happen, you will start craving japanese, chinese, polynesian foods you never thought you would try or like. You will become more laid back and mello. The mainland friends and familly who you used to have such a close talking relationship with in the past will seem to talk to fast and to much

But don't be alarmed my mainland malihini brah, its just a process that happens to all who are openminded in Hawaii, your transforming from the malihini newcomer to malihini transplant.
