Red face Moving to Maui in 2wks..still no place to rent!

Aloha!
My sister is moving from New England in a couple weeks & will be working at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She won't have a car for a bit & will either need to walk/ride a bike/bus to work. I'm helping her find a rental & am having a hard time finding a studio/1bdrm that is close. Is the Wailuku area safe/shady to live in? Does anyone know of a good rental agency to find a 1-2 month rental from, or a corporate rental of some sort? Any suggestions on whether she should try to ship furniture, or go w/o? She's so stressed about needing a place so quick! A couple rental agencies told me they refused to rent "sight unseen, to someone from the mainland" -is this common?

Thanks for any advice! Also, for a one bedroom about how much would electric & water run?

there are at least 22 threads in this forum regarding "maui rentals". use the advanced search button at the top of the page for some answers. also, many, many more related to "shipping". as far as utilities, it depends on whether or not they are included in the rent.

I used the search post for "wailuku" since that's specificaly where she's looking to rent in Maui. Most of the threads were families looking for houses to rent & discussing other areas of Maui. Although, I did see to avoid Harbor Lights.
I should've worded my shipping question diffrently. Also for the utilities, I was asking how much they would be period for the size of a 1 bedroom. Not trying to find how they would effect the rent when listed as "utilities included"

Thanks for your help!
