__________________________________________________ _______________________ I know about the university Palms. My daughter lived there her senior year and she liked it. Be prepared for a group of amourous college students who enjoy staying up late. It is across the street from the university. From memory, wiakea villas are much further away and are a much larger housing units. It is near downtown about 4-5 miles away. __________________________________________________ ______________________- Last edited by 7th generation; 07-08-2008 at 06:24 AM. |

I lived in Wiakea villas for 2 years. my hubby is a teacher and rented there before i came over. we decided to stay there. The units are small and some better then others. We lived on the ground level for a few months and then moved to the third floor and it was much better being higher up. A lot of the units are used as student housing. the students seemed to like living there as it is close to downtown. we always felt secure there and never locked the door or closed the windows. It was noisey on thurs and sat nites as uncles mikeys bar is located there. hope this helps

I would definitely try to find something in the Puna area, as it is probably in most cases a lot cheaper. Hawaiian Paradise Park - close to the highway - is only about 15 minutes away from campus. Check craigslist
