Just wanted to mention its worth a phone call to see if you save money by converting your Oceanic plans to a Spectrum cable plan.

Even though Spectrum bought Oceanic, they aren't converting the plans automatically. Especially for the bundled plans, the Spectrum plans generally give you faster internet and more channels. If you are willing to cancel for 30 days, then you can get a new customer promo rate which is about 50% off for a year.

If you go to the old oceanic.com website it will automatically redirect you to the Spectrum site. I switched to the Spectrum "Gold" and increased internet speed, got a lot more channels, and paying less money.

Got to a call - or presumably live chat works also (maybe) - they won't switch you to the better plans with less money without action on your part.

Nice. Could you tell us what you were paying before and after and what changed with the plans?

I was paying roughly $270, which included multiple boxes, multiple DVR, phone, internet, modem fees, HBO/Cinemax/Showtime/TMC/Starz

The new plan is roughly $230, includes all of the above plus faster internet, Epix, Encore and several other channels that on my guide, said call customer service if you with to receive this channel (there are some retro channels, etc)

Can cut that to roughly $150/month for 12 months if I stop service for 30 days to get the new customer discount which I might be out of town anyway soon and considering that....

Also have Amazon Prime, which I highly recommend for anyone who wants to watch native 4K HDR streaming

Wow, I thought I was paying a lot with TWC. I'm in at about $130/mo for internet and their HD Variety Pak. No premium channels. I get all my movies from Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix (which collectively add about $25/mo).

Regarding 4K on Amazon, not a lot available from what I can tell (movies and documentaries). I don't watch any TV series from any provider. Last year I picked up a 4K LG OLED TV... 4K is amazing to watch in a pitch black room. Wish there was more content available online. I pretty much just order the UHD Bluray videos from Amazon or head down to Best Buy.

I picked up a pair of LG OLED TV's. Nothing comes close.

Don't discount the content on Amazon. Was rewatching the Sopranos and even season 1 upscaled to 4K on OLED is amazing

It's game-changer display technology for sure. I still can't believe what I paid for it on Black Friday last year. It's $700 MORE at Costco right now. Never thought display technology can appreciate... definitely a first for me.

I just wish they had a more affordable (<$5K??) 75-80" OLED TV available. My 65" is tiny compared to most of what's out there today. Plus I'm supposed to be 5 feet away from my current 65 incher to get the full 4K effect. But then again, if I could get the same tech in an 80" format and find sufficient streaming content online I'd never leave the house.

How do you search for 4K content? I can't seem to find any other way other than using voice search on Firestick and saying "4K video".

The Costco model "B7" is exclusive to Costco which is the newer model sold at Best Buy, the "B6". Every review I've read is the extra money for the Costco model isn't worth it.

I don't have a Firestick.

On the native Amazon app on the TV, you simply from the home screen scroll down. On the left, the menu starts with "Watch Next", next is "included with prime exclusive TV". Keep scrolling down, you'll see 4K content listed as "included with prime, ultra HD Amazon Original Series" "included with prime ultra HD TV" "included with prime ultra HD movies"

For an original 4K series, try "Bosch"

You can also search movies to pay, "4K movies on Amazon instant video"

Right now, on television, Spectrum is offering $29 per month, when bundled, for a year. The trouble is, it's $29 per service, or $87 per month total for cable, internet and voice. The ads are deceptive because they keep crowing about $29 per month when you actually pay triple that amount. That's only $5.00 less than I currently pay after 3 years of service.
