Ive only opened 1 thread on here, and Ive asked questions to get input. I didnt know how the rabies shots worked until I called her vet. And I didnt understand what she needed shes my first puppy and Im still learning. Shes way more important than moving to Hawaii, and I am not one of those people who leave their dogs with someone else or have them put down. I wasnt thinking it would for sure work out, that is why Im on this forum. The quarantine law just doesnt make sense to me, I know rabies is a VERY serious disease, but if shes got one shot shes obviously fine. There are no laws like this on the mainland. I havent heard of any cases where I live with rabies. Maybe its true, Hawaiians are racist.. and maybe they are trying to make it harder for mainlanders to move there.. IDK Ive decided to move somewhere else. Good luck to all of you mainlanders moving to Hawaii!

There are rabies cases in every single state, every single year. Hawaii has never, ever had a case of rabies. Although it's a very strict requirement, I agree with it. Plus, if you follow procedure, you can bring your pet.

Where is the best place to live for a good college and job opportunities? I do have a puppy who is a husky/german shepard mix I read a little bit about the "5 day quarantine" is it going to be a problem bringing my pet over? Thanks in advance for any input.

Default yes HI is rabies free

and that's because of the quarantine laws. I think Susan gets it now that the LAW says the pet must be over one year old. She's not concerned about her getting rabies, she thought she could just put a puppy on the plane and move her over. The whole process has been discussed here an dyou just cannot do that.
You're kind to want to encourage her but its misleading and probably the sort of thing that let her think wrongly about the situation in the first place.
