I saw OGG-HNL for $49 and and OHH-KOA for $53. The OGG-KOA stops in Honolulu, clearly a loss leader...

If the issue is software related as being reported, then it should be fixed rather quickly. It will all come down to whether there are additional crashes.
My opinion, the public has a short attention span and this could all blow over pretty quickly.

It could, but now that they're all grounded we shall see.

IIRC, it was through ATA their (now gone) partner airline.

Southwest has already cancelled some flights the mainland. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when they fly inter island and needed those planes in Hawaii with no spares.

Southwest Airlines launches Hawaii service from Oakland to Honolulu with new snacks, in-flight hula dancing March 17, 2019

Southwest Airlines celebrated its inaugural Hawaiian flight from Oakland, California, to Honolulu, with a blessing, hula dancers and more. Sandy Hooper, USA TODAY

Southwest Airlines' Hawaii service debuted Sunday, finally giving the nation's largest domestic carrier a footprint in the vacation hot spot.

Southwest Flight 6808, a 5 1/2-hour nonstop flight from Oakland, California, to Honolulu, landed at 2 p.m. local time. It was met by Hawaii Governor David Ige and Southwest Airlines President Tom Nealon.

Passengers on the inaugural flight were treated to leis and in-flight hula dancing and were the first to sample the expanded snack pack that will be served on the no-frills airline's Hawaii flights. In addition to the airline's standard red bag of pretzels, passengers got Wheat Thins, Welch's fruit snacks, Tic Tacs and a white-cheddar cheese spread. New drinks include Longboard Island Lager from Kona Brewing Company, Minute Maid pineapple orange juice and Blue Chair Bay coconut spiced rum.

I know news can be a little slow here. But, we get it, SWA started flying to Hawaii almost a month ago.

I thought Hawaiians would know, but mainlanders were beset by rumors that the MAX crisis would delay the introduction of Hawaiian service.

Hawaiian's fleet of twenty B717s is between 20.5 and 13.9 years old and replacement jets have not been ordered. With a new fleet of Dreamliners they may be exiting the interisland market and willing to let SWA take over.
