How did things turn out?
I am starting nursing school in Florida and plan on moving to Hawaii. I came across your thread and was wondering how everything turned out for you. Did you wind up moving to Hawaii? Which part? Was it a good decision?
Thank you,
Jessica

John, I am applying for jobs at Queens Medical Center. No response yet. Is it better to move to Hawaii first, in order to be taken seriously as a job candidate? What was your experience? Thanks

hi!thanks for that information you shared with us. By the way, may i ask you, where are you here in hawaii? Im here in Wahaiwa Oahu Island and looking for a job. Actually, I just got here in US from the Philippines. I have a 6 years experienced as a registered nurse there and I also passed my CA NCLEX last 2006. So, my question is..what should I do to have a good job here? Thanks!

Hello all -
I keep meaning to post this but forget. We relocated from Honolulu in 2006, so I no longer have up-to-date information concerning work.
Good luck to everyone....

Hi there, I'm Cindy and I live in Florida now but am moving the end of this year as my boyfriend has acquired a position in Tripler. I was wondering if you can tell me a good area to look for a place to rent there. Thanks

Aloha John, Im trying to talk my filipina RN wife into going to Hawaii as a traveling nurse after we retire. She has about 25+ years in step down, telemetry and recovery mostly. We just wanted to be there seasonally as she has family back here. Like maybe Jan-April every year. Would that be feasible? What length of 'tour of duty' do they require someone to sign up for as a traveling nurse? Ive also heard that some of the hospitals will even provide housing (for a fee of course!). I think she would have to work full time (maybe three 12 hour days per week) for the housing deal though. We would also both have pensions to help out. Any advice you could give us would be greatly appreciated! Malama pono.
