My daughter has just accepted a job teaching on Oahu starting in July. SHe is working in Nanakuli HS. I am coming out with her to get her settled and then leaving her there.... first job, first apartment... Needless to say, I am a bit concerned. What shoudl we know about the HS, the area? Any info will be most appreciated.

Default alittle help

Very hot and alot of traffic on that side of the island, blend in well with the people. Have a big heart and alot of understanding. It's is not the rich side of the island but people there have alot of aloha, if you get to know them.

Your daughter should do well.

Hope this helps!

HI! My daughter also accepted a teaching position on Oahu and is moving there in early July. She will be teaching at the Pohakea Elem School in Ewa Beach. I know of other teachers who are currently teaching in the Nanakuli district and are living in Kapolei - they say the commute in less than 30 minutes as it is opposite the traffic patterns. My daughter is looking in the Ocean Pointe area for apartments to share or rent. I think that being on a bus route would be favorable. Maybe they could consider renting together???
