Default i want to be a teacher in maui!

i have lived out here in Maui for just under three years. i am moving off the westside later this year, heading over to the north shore. i have a degree from a university, and was wondering what my options are.

does anyone know the requirements to work in a private school? i would love to teach youngsters, and spent all of college taking child development classes, teaching courses etc., but never got my credential.

if anyone can lead me in the right direction it would be so helpful.

i am so ready to start teaching, i just don't even know where to begin!!! please help! thank you in advance.

Do you only want to teach at a private school? If you're open to public, go to the DOE website for Hawai'i....they have all the requirements there. Sometimes you can be hired on without a credential if you are simultaneously working on getting a credential. That's public school policy (based on need). But as far as private schools go, it varies from school to school.

Hey....at least you already live on Maui.....life must be pretty good

My wife and I are on a 3 year plan to move to Hawaii (back for her)....I can't wait......LUCKY you!
