Looking for an 'Aussie' Bar in Honolulu
I'm an Aussie girl travelling to Honolulu in June but will miss the decider match to our NRL's State of Origin if I don't find somewhere there that I can watch it...can anyone suggest such a place?

i know that there are a couple of bars in waikiki that have satellite tv, that will show the match, at about 11 pm. when i find out, i'll let you know. but first, are you a maroon or a blue?

The new Waikiki Beach Walk (on Lewers) has a Giovanni Pastrami deli that has at least a dozen plasma big screens that show continuous sports. I think I read an earlier post here, too, that recommended Tiki's Grill (oceanfront, upstairs at Kalakaua and Paoakalani) as a place to watch. Legends Sports Bar (on Nahua, in the Honolulu Prince) has also been around for a while.
Sorry -- don't know specifically about soccer broadcasts. And this is the second post in three months looking for an Aussie bar -- maybe somebody should open one.

legends might have it. not sure about the others, but am doubtful. it is being shown on setanta at 11:30 pm tomorrow, so any bar with directv should have it. you just gotta call around a little bit, i think there are at least a couple of places that will have it. an aussie bar? not a bad idea. wouldn't mind some vb, meat pies and sausage rolls, real fish and chips. now i'm getting hungry...

by the way, tri nations rugby union, aus vs nz, will be on this friday at 9:30 pm. i'll be at legends with my jersey on. aus beat nz the other week, so this is a rare opportunity to thump the kiwis on their home turf, and also gain the advantage in this year's bledisloe cup (4 matches this year, the last in hong kong).

legends isn't showing the tri nations live tonight, just the replay tomorrow. round table might have it, but they won't know until they check setanta at about 9. i'm heading to eastside grill. they have setanta and might be able to show it, if it's not too crowded. it is friday night, and they have 2 live bands lined up, but if there's room for me in the corner, they're willing to let me watch it. pretty sad situation. all these so called sports bars are not hard core.
