MovingAloha is on a distinguished road
Well, Maui08 have you re-read some of your posts? "...Pack of Dogs..." really? I agree with others that have stated when White folks move to a place where they are literally in the minority and people don't treat them with deference, it's unnerving. I am Black have lived in Hawaii for several years and I'm currently living in Texas. I find the folks here in Austin quite delightful and I hope they look at me in a similar light. I am really looking forward to moving back to Oahu where I also found most of the people totally delightful. You get what you give. No matter where I moved, and I've lived many places thanks to the U.S. Navy, but I never went to any new locale wondering whether they would like me - I've always been in the racial minority. I fervently believe in the old trite saying that "I've never met a stranger." I know that there are some folks who are just totally jerks; just avoid them and move on. Why waste that moment in time on such nonsense. I love these posts, because it is doing something Eric Holder stated we are too cowardly to discuss. I may not agree with some, but it's sure is interesting to read the opinions.
