hehe. Los angeles is not california. it is a third world nation that was somehow dropped onto the plot of land it now occupies (see the homeless thread I just posted) I'm sensitive to cold--at night anything less than 55F causes my teeth to chatter--use a heating blanket 8 months out of the year and sick of it. mad russian suggested caribbean. been there. the humidity would squash me like a bug. aruba? a desert isle gets about 12 inches a year.

Whoa, dude! The humidity in the Caribbean is too much for you? Where did you get the idea that Hawaii is any better? You got such a narrow range of comfort zone, I think you are stuck with discomfort wherever you go.

Heh ... a vote for nullgeo is a vote for the future of mankind ... nullgeo for President!

JoeyT has an insatiable appetite for information. I've tried to feed him, just as I would feed all the homeless in Hawaii, if I only could

Null, since you're OL here, tell me: why are you living in Washington if your heart's in Hawaii?

hahahahahahahaha! Really A2!

Actually, I COULD live in my van there ... hmmmm

I AM in Puget Sound, though ... I left Hawaii a couple years back and MAY return. I do love it in many ways. And Hate it in some ways. Like most people who have lived there or do still. I never gave up my property here on a little 10 sq. mile island in the San Juans. I love this place and the life I have here ... the gray, wet, chilly winters get me down but the freedom and isolation are unbeatable. I have 3 acres of forested waterfront with views that you see on magazine covers. My boats are moored right out my window.

No, I'm not rich. Poor as a churchmouse, really. I just bought right ... some time back ... can't afford to keep two places when the other is in Hawaii. When in Hawaii, I lived on an old boat I fixed up there. (NO! NOT a good idea for you, JoeyT!).

I am MUCH more flexible than you seem, JoeyT. I can laugh at my silly haole self and discrimination. I can sit and talk story with the homeless on the beach and have a great day. I need next to nothing materially to be happy. I grow a nice garden for the fun and health of it. Got my veggies and fruit trees. No problem killing game and skinning / plucking it with blood up to my elbows. My temperature range exceeds yours by a WIDE margin — though those balmy Hawaiian nights are heavenly.

When I finally get squeezed outta where I am by all the frickin' Californians moving up here and driving up prices and taxes and building 5000 sq foot vacation homes with mini-golf course lawns encroaching on my shangri-la, I will go back to the Maine coast and woods, where I lived as a boy for a time ... and where the sun comes out some in winter.

Or, maybe I'll come back to Hawaii and live in my van along the beach highways with the rest of the bums
