honolulu pd (apartment, to rent, how much)

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows about these police jobs I keep seeing advertised on hono advertiser and star bulletin
as always, I have a few questions
1: would I make enough to rent my own apartment and to live on?
2: do I have to physically travel there or is there a way to get th job from here
3: any other info will help

ok kind of an edit, just to clarify a few things because im using a pocket pc device so typing is kind of uncomfortable - so just to fix a few errors and missing information

ok for starters, I hear a lot about honolulu hiring a lot of these metropolitan police recruits. I would like to know how much they make and if it would be possible to live on my own out there. Ive seen these jobs on craigslist, honolulu advertiser, and other places.

second, as stated in my other post, movimg to honolulu or not, I am from kansas. If anybody knows about this stuff, is there any way to do everything from here? i know that i can apply online and stuff, but the only time i can travel to hawaii is when I actually move there. it would be loads easier if i got on here, and just transferred when i am good and ready.

third, if anyone else actually has one of these jobs, any information is appreciated: like what kind of stuff you see every day, what it all entails, if i need schooling, etc
