It's not the rain, or the thunder and lightening that we get on a daily basis, mixed with intermittent hale, which can really wreck your car, seeing as the hale is the size of bowling balls, or the killer turtles off Hanauma Bay that are a real problem here in Hawaii..........IT'S THE RAMPANT CANNIBALISM!!!!!!!!! SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE SEEMS TO IGNORE!!!!!!! JUST GO TO FOODLAND OR SAFEWAY AND TRY TO FIND A BOTTLE OF A1 STEAK SAUCE???????? DO THEY HAVE ANY????????? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY IS THAT??????????........Makes one ponder, doesn't it?????

Aloha
only joking.................or..............maybe not??????? Okolemaluna

Like Jung's sense of humor, Hoh cuz...Where da A1 Sawse? I really miss that place...NO, not really any storms, more rain. I remember one tornado touch down in the four and half years I was there, and when it storms, people all watch cause it's so rare. Made me lonely being from the summer storm of the Midwest...

On the one hand, wait till the fingers of the Koolau get a nice pouring from the clouds over them, and it's not raining where you are, and giant rain-made 1000 foot waterfalls roll down into the valley near Kaneohe. That's something so beautiful I will never forget. You see people stopping on the side of H3 just to see it...

Good luck bro, I miss HI a lot! It's a place like none on earth...

Trying to be serious,,,,,(that won't last long!) When it does storm in Hawaii, especially if there is thunder and lightening, it really is quite a special occaision, as long as no one gets hurt, or any houses damaged. I remember sitting on the lanai of my condo on Nuuanu Avenue a few years back in the early evening, sky up by the Koolaus is turning darker and darker, few lightening bursts, the kind that seems to go from cloud to cloud, it starts raining like lolo, as in crazy, and a lightening bolt hits the electrical transformers down by Waikamilo, power is out!!! Watched the ensueing storm and lightening for a few hours, didn't need candles, as mother nature was supplying light every so often. Great time, only bummer, warm beer!!!!!!!!! The sacrafices we must make in Hawaii!!!!!! Oh well..........

Aloha, and, watch out for the cannibals

Eh??????? Where's my A1 sauce?????????

It may have sounded like a mundane, even dumb question, but the reason I asked is that I considered Galveston as a possible alternative (a poor man's alternative, if you will) to Hawaii. However since I have periodic insomnia and am a light sleeper, all that thunder crashing through the night is not exactly condusive to a good night's slumber. Hence the inquiry about Hawaii. Rain is wonderful, but accompanied by thunder for hours on end it loses its appeal.

You wouldn't have that problem. Thunder is a "once in a while" occurrence, and my memory says that the last time I heard it, it was in the afternoon.

That's good news. Thanks, Hank. I love it in the days/evenings.
