Talking UK nurse seeks job in Hawaii !!

Hey everyone,

I will be a UK registered nurse in Feb next year and Im interested in finding work overseas. I realise I will need experience prior to commencing employment in most countries.

I will hopefully get experience in A&E (ER) and will do 6 months to a year. Are there agencies I could contact in Hawaii that would be interested in me. I take it there is a course of some sort I would have to take in order to bring my skills up to an American RN's level??

Any info would be greatly appreciated as its quite hard to figure things out all the way over here (in Scotland!).

Cheers

Try contacting the personnel department of the hospitals directly, I would think. There are only a few for each island and Oahu has the most as well as the ones which do the most procedures so that might be a good place to start looking.

Angencies would be more likely to give you a package deal with housing and transport. The hospitals might be less likely to give you that or set you up with the same deal. Do an internet search and you should find thousands of Nursing agencies.

Halothane, I am guessing you are an anesthesia provider? If so, do you work in Hawaii?
