Default Moving dogs to Maui

Does anyone know how to move large dogs to Hawaii besides them being put into cargo on a plane.
Thanks for any advice.

Nope. I'm assuming you already know about the quarantine issues. I'm moving back and my poor mutts have to be cargo. They'll be fine, I've sent animals here before.

Default Sedation?

I have heard that sedating dogs can be fatal. Is this true? If so, it seems that flying is the only way to get them to Hawaii...is there something that will calm them down without putting them "out"?

I thought it was more deadly to put them in cargo? If you have a very small dog is there a way to get it there without putting in cargo?

For quarantine info, go to this web page
http://www.hawaiiag.org/hdoa/ai_aqs_info.htm

I'm pretty sure that dogs being imported to Hawaii do have to go as cargo, that they cannot be carried in the cabin with the owners. This is because of the quarantine issue. I could be wrong on that, so check with the airlines.

yes they must go cargo unless you have your own private yacht to cross the Pacific in...unfortunately. i sure wish airlines were more dog-friendly and would allow us to buy seats in the cabin. my dogs would be sitting there probably more well behaved than some people! he he

Our three chihuahuas flew in the cabin with us on United. They were carry on luggage and were well behaved without sedation. It can work...I proved it. It just takes a lot of preparation and research.

Large Dogs? You're on your own and I don't advise it. Belle is right on that one. Cargo is your only option unless you take a cruise ship. It's gonna be tough unfortunately. Good luck.
