Default Waikoloa Village - Big Island

What is it like living in the Waikoloa Village area? Does the wind get to you? Friendly, safe area? Affordable? Sunny? Rainy?

What are other areas north of Kona including N.Kohala coast, Hawi, etc. like for living?

Thanks for your feedback...

It's volcanic, hot, dry and windy. Topography is desolate. Gorgeous beaches and the resorts are a close drive. It's the sunniest part of the island. When the vog dies down, you have a nice view of Maui. It's clean and safe. It's out in the boonies, so to speak. Waimea is 20 minutes, Kona is 35.

if i had the $ and if i had a choice, i'd want to live in Waimea. Waikoloa is also very pretty, but i think Waimea is just breathtaking and breezier. i think there are more shops closeby, and there is a Kaiser Permanente clinic up there.

btw, have you been to the hilton waikoloa village grounds? the scenery is just way too gorgeous! while waimea is a beautiful place to live, i think waikoloa is an awesome vacation spot.
