Default My husband built this Kauai home

I haven't posted much lately but I thought I'd show you all the house my husband and sons worked on in Hawaii. It's on the north shore of Kauai.

Return to old Hawaii in this elegant 1920’s style plantation home with all of the modern amenities one would expect in this craftsman built luxury retreat. Offered by Linda Kelly RA Koa Properties Land and Homes. e-mail linda@koakauai.com 808 482 0

My husband and sons did all the masonry work on it including the bridge, BBQ and huge rocks that create the lagoon-like pool.

We could never afford to live there but I'm proud of their talent.

Thanks. I remember our first visit there in 2001. It was just a lot and the owner/builder was living in a two room hut. It was truly a labor of love.

Their Realtor is completely clueless if they are calling that "plantation". That is about as plantation as a lear jet. Luxury resort, yes, plantation, no. Not in the least tiniest bit. Other than paying an arm and a leg as well as all your grandchildren's inheritances to buy the place running that waterfall will run you broke before you have time to worry about running your grand kids broke.

What a sheer waste of resources. Do you think a family will ever live in that house?

That is first class work. And some family, and all there Friends will enjoy that for generations.
And I hope We never reach a point were Government or fear mongers EVER start telling another Citizen what to do with their Own property.
The sky is not falling. and the world some of the hand wringers are hoping for is a world no one will want to live in.

You can be very PROUD of the beautiful work that your son and husband did...I only wish I could afford to enjoy the beautiful work they are capable of doing!

If I ever win the lotto, I am looking you up to have them build MY dream house....until then I remain one of the working class...like you guys!

Thank you for all the kind words. My husband has built some beautiful homes in the Pittsburgh area but never anything like that. And the fact that 3 of my sons worked on it with their dad makes it even more special.

As for a waste of resources, to each his own. My husband can build it but we surely can't afford to own it. That doesn't mean I begrudge someone else the pleasure of it, though.

Annyz is on a distinguished road
You are fortunate to have a husband and sons who are capable of doing such fine work. But whenever I see these multi-million dollar homes I have to wonder...couldn't these people have put their money to better use?
