maui or oahu for dating?
I am a 25 single female looking to move to Hawaii this Feb. I always thought I would move to Maui, but l have been thinking that it might be hard to date there, as everyone is a tourist. Is Oahu better for dating? Which areas of the islands would be good for really creating a sense of community and lasting relationships? I work in the Hospitality industry and do massage on the side if thats a factor....also into surfing. Any advice would be appretiated!

Pick the island which has the best surf since a perfect wave is about as hard to find as a perfect guy. Actually, I don't think either one exists but the waves are most likely to show up in certain areas.

haha i actually have that same question!
all i know is dating on the island is like dating in a small town in wisconsin, everyone knows everything at every moment.

I don't think it really matters which island you date on, it is probably more important WHERE on each island you look for dates to find a non-tourist person. If you look for folks in Waikiki or Lahaina, you are likely to find a tourist. Check the different neighborhoods for the predominant sort of folks who live in those neighborhoods and then go to gatherings in those neighborhoods to meet folks. Another good way to find folks is to meet the aunties and then ask them who the good ones are.
My personal theory on finding guys is to look at their moms and see if that's someone you'd want to be. Many times guys will be most comfortable having their wife fill the same role as their mom did with their father, so find a guy who has a good relationship with his mom and a pair of parents who you'd like to be like.
