Waikiki beach, Kailua beach and Ala Moana Beach are all usually pretty busy with lots of people out sunning, swimming, walking, etc. Kailua and Waimanalo beaches have windsurfers to watch. North Shore beaches have huge waves during the winter, but you shouldn't swim there when the big waves are there. All of these are on Oahu.
