Default Waipahu?

Anyone have much to say about Waipahu?

My wife is Filipina (and i'm caucasian)..

I drove through it.. quite a few Filipino businesses.. some great asian grocery stores.. but the city seems to have a reputation that isn't so good.. but when I was driving through it, it didn't stand out outstandingly negative or positive on the the whole.. but housing wise, would be comparitively affordable to say Honolulu, etc.

A decent website for statistics.

You might want to check other areas - East Kapolei and Ewa beach has some affordable homes and a strong population of filipinos (check data center on hawaii.gov). Kapolei is a nice area and my understanding is that the crime rate is lower than Waipahu.
