Default Do people Love and Watch Football in Hawaii

I will be moving in three weeks to Kea'au near Hilo and was wondering if people watch the NFL? I am a huge Tennessee titan fan and though i will be here through the regular season i will be in Hawaii during the playoffs. I didnt know if any NFL games were shown on tv or if there are sports bars that have regular games shown? Do WIFI spots have strong enough signals in general to stream live games or the DSL that i will be getting at the rental house i will be staying at going to be strong enough? The only other thing is that live streams will be 6 hours early for games so like if a team plays at 12 noon central then in hawaii it will be six am. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't watch football, myself, but a lot of folks do. There are one or two bars maybe in Hilo that might be classified as a sports bar, but I don't go into them, either, so I can't give you many details. I think there is one bar in Keaau, although they may have closed lately.

You could probably set up a big screen TV in your house or garage and have folks over to watch the games with you. I have seen a few folks who have done this since most entertainment around here is of the home grown variety.

Legends in Keaau did close recently, but we are hearing that something new may open in the same location in the near future. It would be the closest place to watch games, if they keep the TVs...

Cronies in Hilo is another option. Not sure where else in Hilo I would try to go...on the other side, the Seafood Bar at Kawaihae has several TVs and the owner is looking into going all digital soon with new flat screens...

Thanks guys! Was the legends that you were talking about a steak house. Because we have one of those like a mile down the road from where we live now. How is the wireless on the island?

On Oahu anyway, lots of sports bars & restaurants open at 6am for Sunday football. I haven't been so dedicated as to go to one of them. But there must be an audience for it. Plus, folks are crazy for the UH team, at least in the past few years. (UH vs. Notre Dame in the Hawaii Bowl this year... can't go because we have house guests coming who wouldn't really enjoy it.)

Of course you can go, just send your house guests off to the Polynesian Cultural Center for the day and go do your stuff. There are tour buses which will take them away all day long.

Legends wasn't a franchised steak house. I don't think we have any of those on the island.

Depending on precisely where you are you may be able to get wireless or not. It is extremely geographic dependent. Some areas you can get cable and other areas not.

I suspect on the mainland most places have a lot of services we don't have and there are large areas which all have the same services available. Frequently folks are amazed at what we don't have, they just assume that all properties would have ________ (fill in the blank with your favorite service) to the houses.
