mental health care in Hawaii?
Hello!
I am finishing up my master's in social work and thinking about moving to Hawaii. I work in the mental health field as a therapist (mostly addictions and depression) and I was wondering if anyone has any opinions or knowledge on the mental health services in Hawaii and what the job market may be like?
Thanks!

A huge need on the neighbor islands, combined, unfortunately, with few opportunities for employment to address that need

Hi Mogon
I was wondering about that. Apparently it's pretty much pointless to have medicaid there as well , at least that's what I've read anyway, due to the fact that many doctors are refusing it now? I know that's happening here too, has been for a good while now, but the affect is minimal here compared to Hawai'i I'm sure. I've looked at the mental health web sites for the facilites there, what was on the internet anyway and (like you said) what little there is, but I was wondering why the mental health department for Maui says it's located on Ohau when the address and map reads 95 Mahalani St # 5, Wailuku, HI ? Guess I'll have to call and check that out.
