i'm sure i'm the only one out there but i think giovanni's is ick. i didn't find it very flavorful just a ton of garlic and butter. i guess after all the hype i was expecting much more. we did meet some nice people sitting at our table though

Husky, did you order the spicy version? I think that's what I always get, and I love it. I've never tried the normal garlic butter version.

my husband got the spicy one...he said it was good but not over the top. i think our expectations were set way too high since we had heard so many good things.

Alohikea is on a distinguished road
There is a shrimp truck at the 7-11 right when you come into Haleiwa from Wahiawa that is the bomb! I can't remember the name off the top of my head but they slice open the back of the shrimpie so all the good flavor gets into the meat-not all sitting on the shell. Even their salad dressing is killer! I eat up all the cabbage under the shrimp also-it's that good! I have only had the garlic and butter but my cousin had the coconut shrimp and she said it was very good.

I think I totally know the shrimp truck you're speaking of, Alohikea. I was in Haleiwa with two co-workers and we ate over there. I remember their cabbage salad with the ono salad dressing. I would buy that salad dressing if they sold it. It was that good. Isn't it run by some Japanese ladies from Japan? That was what I recall. I even scribbed my name on the truck along with like two thousand other people, yet I can't remember the name of that truck. It's parked at a picnic area near the Giovanni's truck.
