What are you people doing?
Hey, if you guys live in a (relatively) pristine place like Hawaii what are you doing indoors behind a computer screen?
You should be outside living it up. I would surf and hike all day.

Boy this would be a dull un-informative forum for those of us still on the mainland. I think after the initial newness wears off after a year or two then hanging out at the home maybe a way to break it up a bit.

Some of us actually have to work to support ourselves. After working a 10 or 12 hour day, I don't always have the energy to go outside, live it up, surf and hike. Too bad...

I've been here 2 weeks today, and have went to the beach almost every day. But as others say, after working you get tired too. I work in the afternoons so go to the beach before work. Since i am new here, i am trying to do too much too sun, so need to slow down.

It is dark outside right now. Kinda hard to hike and surf in the dark. Then, there is always the rain, too. At least for those of us near Hilo.

For the people that live in HI they have to earn a living and work, some with several jobs. We spend several weeks in HI each year and it is very expensive. If you can afford to surf and hike more power to you.

I haven't made it to Hawaii...just yet. June 25th we arrive!
If you closely follow those that have been planning the big move, the amount of posts that they make dramatically drops off as soon as they reach the islands.
Who says they have to be indoors? The house we are renting has wireless broadband and a large lanai that is surrounded by gardens and rainforest. I guess me and the laptop will be enjoying being outdoors, behind a computer screen.... .

I have a medical condition that necessitates staying out of the sun, I am only out of the house when my husband, son or a friend is around to take me out - so for my daily activity this computer is my lifeline to the rest of the world.

If I move to hilo, i'm just going to buy a house with a lot big enough to grow some of my own food. Then I won't even have to work much.

Gosh, your right. I'm cooking Laulaus but planned to work in the garden as they slow cooked. But it ended up raining all day so I stayed inside and watched movies. I aught to have worked in the garden for the last hour since it cleared up but missed the opportunity- now I need to go sell my laulaus. Later folks.
