Default Is 8 full days enough for Kauia? :-)

Aloha everyone.......

me and my gf (both around 29) are planning a trip to hawaii in November.
I posted another thread here and people recommended that i go to Kauai instead of the other islands.....and that it'll be a nice trip filled with plenty to do.

we're booking our flight today and wanted to know wheather we should book from november 14-23 or 18-30th?

one is 10 days, one is 13. one requires 6 off days, one requires 7!!!
rough estimates show a difference of about $800 in total trip costs if we go with the 3 additional days....

my question: assuming that it'll take two full days for travel (we're on the east coast), is 8 full days on the island enough to fully enjoy and relax on the island? :-)

appreciate any suggestions.
ps. we will probably NOT go other islands due to costs.

Kauai is a very small island. 8 full days will be plenty. That will give you time to do some exploring, hiking, boating, whatever, as well as time to just sit on the beach.

Enjoy your trip!

I think so, can you do 2 islands?? Lots to do on Oahu even if it is over crowded. Just my humble opinion. At least 2 islands if you do 13 days, you won't regret it.

I live on Kauai and 8 days of relaxation may be more than enough in fact you may not want to leave especially if you're an artist. Many of our local artist once were visitors and now they run art galleries here. Hanalei beach was rated the #1 beach of 2009 so you may want to bungalow there or head west to Poipu where its always sunny and even further west is the beautiful white sandy beach of Kekaha. And of course, a cabin at Kool Kokee.

But where ever you stay you'll have fun ... enjoy.

kauai is beautiful and the longer you can stay the better. I think it is the most beautiful of all the islands, I could stay a lifetime.

i'm so excited. :-) thanks everyone.

can anyone make good hotel/apartment recommendations? we'd like to be on the best beach and if possible have an ocean view overlooking either the sunrise or sunset (Ideally)

we're getting our tickets for free from united :-) using miles. We are therfore having a budget of about 100 a night for hotel. if it's a bit more, for the right place, we're open to that....but we like to get the best deal possible...(hence booking things 6 months in advance) lol
