Waianae and PILILAAU
We were guests at the PILILAAU ARMY RECREATION CENTER for an amazing week last Thanksgiving and a few questions came to mind. Why do so many people live on the beach and why does the government allow it? I was saddened by the plight of many of the people that lived there. I find it to be one of the most beautiful parts of Hawaii, but I wish there were more programs to help the people there. Are they happy the way they are? I fit in great since we are half Asian, but my wife who is a "Howlee babe" got plenty of crusty looks from the women and admiration from the local men. Hanara's had great cheap food, but we did feel like outsiders every time we went around the town.
