Walmart can't handle the frogs and folks are still trying to eradicate the frogs, they are just using their own money instead of having any help from the County or State. Same with the Albizia, folks can remove them from their lot, but the seeds will come in from other trees. You do what you can with what you've got and that's about all you can do.

Aloha,
So I should walk away from a bargain-basement $6,000 lot purchase in Nanawale Estates due to the presense of 3 Albizia trees on it?? They ought to be able to be removed like any other tree. The property has quite a bit of native Ohia present that seem to be surviving just fine with the Albizia's towering above. Sounds like land with Albizia on it is like a case of terminal cancer. I really like this property though. It's a corner lot and a little larger than the average lot in Nanawale. Does it cost a fortune to have a tree service come out and remove the Albizia's? I really enjoy reading your discussions.

our best friends love living in nanawale. even though the lot is dirt cheap, have you considered buying a foreclosure property with house already on it? that's what our friends did. unbelievable price they paid. there's 3 other foreclosures right next to them. in fact, one is a corner lot.

Just remove them. It is just a tree. When you later one trying to grow - simply cut it down before it gets large. No big deal.
Just don't build your house and leave the darn trees growing though. They tend to fall over, break large limbs off, etc. and you would hate to have a large tree crash into your house.

Thank you for the info. I will check into some forclosures in and around Nanawale Estates. I'd really love something in Waiopae near the tide pools, but its pricy there and lava zone 1. I'm still buying my lot in Nanawale Albizias and all. I close on it this week. Thanks for your replies!
