Idahoan Traveler is on a distinguished road
Default Moving to Maui

I am moving my family into the Maui area, I have employment in Kahului and I am looking for some basic information.

I am looking to Rent 2 bedroom perferably, but I will settle for a one bedroom, my daughter is 18 months and we could work around that. I do have a small dog that we are bringing with us, i understand there are some places that dont rent to people with small animals.

I am wondering about the scooter/motorcycle rules and laws in the area, along with prices of finding one. I have a car that will be shipped but I would perfer that stay with my wife and daughter while I am at work.

My wife is very creative and wants to find some local second hand stores to build and customize her new home in. Any advice on places with phone numbers would be great.

Also I was looking for some advice on a good book or possible online site that can help me get use to hawaiian cultures and languages.

Thank you in advance
Sincerely
The Idahoan Traveler

Hey there from Oregon! . Have you done all of the stuff for the direct release at the airport for your dog? Or are you going to do the quarantine route? Just wanted to check because some folks aren't aware of the animal quarantine laws and such.

If you're looking for a condo, two bedroom two bath, give the Iao Parkside a try. Centrally located, ideal for commuting on a scooter, and there is a nice park nearby.

Aloha and okolemaluna
