cathrine, you already have a ticket I would just put everything in storage and go, see how you like it. it cost 150 bucks to change the date on your ticket so I wouldn't worry about that. I don't know enough about oahu but I am sure your sis could help you there good luck

Yeah - it should have been a new thread! To respond to the original - sounds like an opportunity of a lifetime - would go for it!

Aloha all. Ive been thinking of relocating part time to Hawaii also. Ive visited the islands 6 times so far. Years ago I dated a Hawaiian woman and enjoyed learning about the culture and language. My wife is a RN and we were thinking of her retiring after 25 years or so and doing the traveling nurse thing for 4 months every year. So her employer hopefully would be paying housing expenses. I will be retiring from state government here in 20 months and between the 2 of us we would be making about $75k a year, not counting what we would make working there. I have experience working in the nursery or horticulture area. Think this is feasible? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. A hui hou...

Catherine, double check on your airline ticket. When I inquired about RT tickets they told me dates could be up to a maximum of 2 months apart. I think that was NW/Delta Airlines though.
