Default Moving to Wailuku

My husband and I have both been offered jobs teaching in the Wailuku/Kahului area. It will just be the two of us so we are only looking for a 1-bedroom place. We are seriously considering purchasing a condo in Puuone Terrace. Does anyone know/care to share any information about that location/community? And if you know a really trustworthy real estate agent, I'd love some suggestions! Thanks!!

Maybe I should rephrase some... we are interested in purchasing rather than renting because I don't want to lose money with rent being so high. We are planning to be in the area for several years, so we are thinking that investing in real estate would be the smarter decision. Puuone Terrace is the option we are considering because it is close to the schools we will be at, it is in our price range, and a friend said we would be fine there. We would be willing to consider any other areas if there are suggestions.

We will be moving this summer, so we wouldn't make an offer for a couple more months. For those familiar with the real estate market, is it wise to purchase a home/condo right now? Or would it be more wise to wait a few months to a year and let the market start going back up again? I don't really want to end up with a condo that we can't afford to get rid of in a few years. Thanks again for any advice!

Checkout trulia.com. It is great for real estate questions about almost any area.
