Default Working in Waianae, where to live?

Hi everyone,

I just found out that I will be working in Waianae. I was planning to live in Waikiki but I don't know if I want to make the commute everyday. Any suggestions on some nice neighborhoods that would cut down my commute. Thanks for any info

Waikiki is very far from Waianae. The mileage might not seem to bad if you're coming from the mainland, but for Oahu that is a very, very long trip and it will wear on you eventually.

Check out Kapolei, Ewa Gentry, Royal Kunia, Makakilo...those are all newer-ish suburban type communities that are significantly closer....Kapolei in particular has had a lot of recent development and is right around the bend from the Leeward Coast.

I would suggest Makaha Valley Plantation, This is a gated condo community reasonable prices to buy a unit and there are some long and short term rentals too.

Thanks for the info. I move the first week of August so I think I will try to find a vacation rental in Kapolei to get a feel for the neighbohoods. I wasn't planning to have a garage but if I am going to be living out of town it will be nice to secure my motorcycle and have an area to work on it.

I do agree! Check out Makaha Shores. They offer temp vacation rentals or units for leases. Check Craigslist and type Makaha Shores. VERY clean and nice beach. The complex is RIGHT on the beach.
