Default Volcano question

Hi Everyone,

My understanding is that there's an upscale restaurant inside Volcano National Park with a view of the crater and lava flow.

Is this true? And if so what is it's name?

Thanks!!

Alley

Volcano House has a restaurant which is quite nice but it isn't hugely upscale. I guess a two star restaurant instead of a four or five star, although I'm just guessing. They are the only restaurant with a view into Halemaumau crater although there is a snack bar area the next set of windows over which has the same view but the food isn't anywhere near as good nor is it brought to the table.

The Volcano House restaurant, the snack bar and the military eatery over at Kiluaea Military Camp are the only eating places inside Volcano National Park. In the town of Volcano several miles outside the park there are a few more eatery places but not too many.

Kilauea Lodge outside of the park in Volcanoe Village has the best place to eat in my opinion..for most of the island. Don't eat inside in the park! It is an old YMCA doesn't open until 5pm has some history even contected to the Magium PI TV serious. Friend of mine will be back from Alaska in Oct and has won in the last couple of years for his chocolate - dessert competition for desserts... They have great food a little on the high price for Hawaii island. If eating in the area I highly recommend if you want a good expensive dinning experience. Top price on menu is probable $34.00...........
