Default planning a relocation to Honolulu - any good staff agencies to recommend?

I am contemplating relocating to Honolulu. (well, Waimanalo to be exact.) My boyfriend is a resident of Hawaii and has a stable full-time job.

I am extremely hesitant to relocate without knowing more about the job market. I have been looking online both for jobs and for recommendations about staffing agencies. Since I am unfamiliar with the state, I do not know how good they are and if some are better than others. Can anyone recommend a reputable one?

I have used staffing agencies on the mainland with positive results, but I've heard that companies in Hawaii don't pay much attention to applicants from the mainland. I am a licensed attorney, but would have to wait until February to take the Hawaii bar.

The thought of moving there without any prospects seems completely crazy to me. Although my boyfriend is employed, with the cost of living as high as it is, I do not want to put him in the position of supporting me if I cannot find employment.

Is it unreasonable to make this move?
