Wilikina Drive is the main road through Wahiawa and goes right past the base. I happen to LOVE Wahiawa but it is not everyone's cup of tea. Don't sign any leases till you been there. The town is centered around the base and there are some dicey areas. Go check it out in person is my best advice. Good luck!

While I agree with last poster about Wahiawa having some dicey areas, Wilikina Dr. is not the main road in Wahiawa. The main roads are Kamehameha Hwy. and California Ave. I was born and raised in Wahiawa, the Heights to be exact. The area the OP is talking about is not so nice. There's too much traffic noise, run-down apartments and drunks fighting. Depending on your budget, I would look at others areas in Wahiawa or the nearby town of Mililani.

I think it is in the 1600's address wise. Overlooking a lake I believe, that may help. I don't consider traffic noise to be a bad area though

Personally, I would not move to ANY of the apartments on Wilikina Dr. There are some nice places (the Hts) but I would look in Mililani and the surrounding area for aplace to live. NEVER sign a lease without physically inspecting the property!

You're right- I always ended up on Wilikina going to the "windy road" going down to Waialua. All this is making me very nostalgic.

THanks, wht apartments are called woodwinds, or woodlands, something like that. Just wondering. because if loud traffic, and noise is what you are saying is bad, then I am ok with that. Or were you saying the crime is rampant there? like oahi st.?
