Default Recommendations for shipping a motorcycle please.

I would like to ship my motorcycle from California to Maui. Has anyone done this and can please recommend a safe and reliable company? I would prefer door to door service. Thanks guys.

Being in California already, you are way better off shipping direct from one of the ports as you will save a lot of money. Drive it to the port yourself and pick it up yourself after it arrives. Long Beach, Oakland or Seattle are the 3 West Coast ports to ship vehicles from. Pasha, Matson and Horizon all ship vehicles themselves. Any other company is simply a broker and will most likely use of one those three companies ships anyway. Better to deal direct with the shipper.

Have your local dealer call the Harley dealer (or any bike dealer for that matter) in Maui to coordinate your move. The dealer will make the bike safe, crate it, deliver it to the airport where it will be inspected then air freighted to Maui and delivered to that dealer. They will uncrate it, get it road ready, and dispose of the crate material. You can then pick it up at the dealer. Do not forget to arrange for Hawaii based insurance, license, etc right away. It should take only about 1 week to arrive in Maui.
