Default wheel-chair bound female

Looking for a place where independence is key. Vegatarian with eclectic views on religion/philosophy. Is there anyone out there on Oahu that helps/knows. Caregivers, people in the same situation? English speaking households (Hawaiian,Japanese OK).

Vinty,
What exactly are you looking for? I am blind, and in a wheelchair (also female) and live on Oahu. Are you looking for a care home, an aide or just ideas for island living? let me know! Aloha.

I am not in a wheel-chair yet as I was neglected and currently am in a bed 24/7. I am currently in the adult foster care system. As soon as I recieve my legal rights back I want to find people whom take care of themselves with assist (shopping, supplies etc...). I may not be able to walk, but I surely can arrange and take care of my life.
Thank-you for your intetest.

Sorry Vinty,
Since I am blind I rarely venture out of my comfort zone on the web and I am unfamiliar with 'blogger'.

I have a large group of friends and acquaintances with varying levels of physical disabilities. We all live in our own homes and live our own lives with a modicum of help from a few outside services.

There should be a list of services provided to you and you will be able to pick and choose what works the best for you and your situation.

If you wish to live as independently as possible you will have to become mobile in whatever way works the best for you (wheelchair, walker, crutches...whatever). This is not to say that you must be able to be in a chair the majority of your day but obviously, if you wish to shop, go to the movies or be a part of your community then it is important to find what works best for you. HandiVan here is an excellent service and with a little planning and organization you may find that this will work well for you.

Good luck to you.
