Good time of year vs Bad time of year to visit Hawaii?
Hello,
I'm thinking about bringing my family to Hawaii for Christmas. I've heard there is a time when weather is bad and hurricane season. What times of the year are best to visit Hawaii, and what time of the year should I avoid it?
Thank you in advance.
Dee

All depends which island you want to go to. Here on Kauai during Xmas most people visit the south side in Poipu because the North shore is usually raining and the surf is huge.

Hello,
I was thinking about either the Big Island or Oahu. Does anyone have any information for me?
Thanks.

Winter is high season in hawaii. However bookings are not quite as heavy this year, so you should be able to find something. The Kona side is best We have some storms in winter but they normally do not amount to much. Check the "vacation by owner" type sites, or call local RE companies who do vacation rental management.

there really isn't a bad time to come to hawaii as far as I am concerned. seems we have a few weeks a year where the weather is iffy. these days will either come all at once or are scattered out a bit. take out insurance if you are real worried. but for the most part, everyday is 86 degrees with a cooling trade wind

So you say!
If you come to the Big Island, consider staying a couple of nights in Volcano Village, no matter where you stay for the rest of the trip. A meal at Kilauea Lodge, by the fire, is a must!

Cynthia gives a lot of good advice, and this is no exception. Not to miss, is our very own active volcano and my favorite east side spot, Akaka Falls.

Christmas Weather
When I lived on Oahu in the '50s and the '60s, we always went to the beach on Christmas Day. I think it was just so we could brag that we did.
I NEVER remember being rained out of that.

Aloha,
Good places to go during winter?
If you like sun sand water then Hawaii is for you.
If you like (I hate this four letter word) snow then do I have the place for you Rochester NY its cold lots of that four letter word stuff, cold, tons of ice on the roads and on the lakes and ponds.
So you pick Its all up to you.
If it was me I would pick Hawaii
