food costs in Kona?
Does anyone know the price of meat or a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. We will be going there and wonder if it's worth taking such items.

Safeway and Foodland had good prices on frozen Thanksgiving turkeys this year. However, last week on the first day of the sale - within the first half day of the sale - they sold out of the larger sizes. They were selling the smaller ones 14#-16# or less for about $5 each. The larger ones were about $7 each but were sold out quickly. They will probably still have some of the $15 - $25 ones left, although if they run out they run out and I doubt they'd air lift turkeys in.

I do believe this will be called the " The Turkey Airlift of 09" It stopped the Infamous " Turkey riots of 09"
Now the job is to prevent the "Christmas Ham Riots of 09"

Hey I know what I'm talking about here. Its not all fun and games In Hawaii
Who here remembers the "Merrie Monarch Malasada Massacre of March 93"
There was 1600 Mad Menacing Monarchers (I would say Hula Dancers but no M's) Marching in South Central Hilo Threatening to March all the way to Leonards in Honolulu.
All was saved by a unknown-ed Air drop of 14 tons of warm Malasadas

Don't they sell spam musubi and manapua at your local gas station? They always have the steam cabinet next to the cappuccino machine around here.
