Best beach to take family picture on?
We're leaving Oahu next month after a short stay here. :O( I want a nice family picture of us on the beach. A family member is coming to visit and she can take it. Just looking for good spots anyone can recommend. As well as time of day. I don't want the sun glaring in our face when we do it. We have 2 young boys that will get restless lol We're at Schofield, so I'm thinking somewhere close on N Shore, but will drive for the right Kodak moment background. :O)

I think any beach here is perfect at dawn. That's the best light on the beach I think. I had my wedding pictures at dawn in Waimanalo, just down from Bellows, and they turned out wonderful.

My favorites are Kailua Beach and Bellows around mid morning before it gets too hot. Both beaches are on the windward side of Oahu.

Lanikai with the two islets in the background. That's a totally classic shot. Lanikai is sort of the extension of Kailua beach and it has really nice sand, too. Very soft and white.

If you're military, there is a nice little beach on Hickam that is very pretty. Another nice beach which should be hopping now that it's getting close to winter is Waimea-probably don't want to get in the water but if the waves are huge then that would be a good pic.

Aha! A better idea, instead of selecting one, take pictures at ALL of them! Get all the relatives into some sort of caravan and circle the island stopping at each beach to take a picture. It will be a memorable day and you'll have loads of pictures, too.
