I just don't see how someone in DC can make valid observations about Hawaii, I live here, and know what I'm talking about from over 30 years here. The island, Maui, hasn't had a significant highway improvement in over 25 years, yet the population has almost trippled. It upsets the tourists, they're in a hurry, all dressed up and nowhere to go, stuck in traffic. It bugs everyone. And please school me further on how to act like an adult, I could really use your akamai po'o. And yea, it is all about me, how can you make a statement like that, have we ever met?
Of course there was that night on Molokini in the chalet, what a fond memory.

Aloha and okolemaluna

I suppose its a tad bit easier to comment on a man's immaturity in his writings than to randomly assume he drives a Hummer and votes GOP.

No, we have never met, but were it the case I would come armed with one of those big lolly pops.

Hey Moth,
There's something called a sense of humor, now you're in DC so I can see where you might not have one. And then there's our old buddy sarcasm, if you're in DC and don't have a good dosage of sarcasm then my heart goes out to you. Just expressing my opinion, but if you want to front the money so I can go to college, again, and become a meaningful adult, send cash, I've got this little problem with the IRS. Hohomonanui already. I have to go paddling now. Hopefully not too much traffic between here and Wailea, oh, wait a sec, I'll be on a racing kayak, probably going faster than Kihei Road traffic. Now that's the best way to commute in Kihei, but what would I know? Where's my lolipop? Prefer root beer flavor.

Aloha and okolemaluna ike ule.

Hmmm...I am not the one ranting about tourists. They are a main source of my colony's revenue and your state's as well.

***You Hawaiians, always trying to mooch a handout.

There's traffic everywhere buddy. It is not specific to where you are located. Its not about you. This country is one big traffic jam going nowhere fast.

Maybe a shaved ice? A ludicrously simple, yet highly appealing Hawaiian innovation that has sadly not made it here.

***Yes, that was a joke.

I was "ranting" about tourists? Show me where. Just the 8 day 3 island tour deal, where tourists are always in a hurry, and show very little respect for anyone else on the road, regardless if they're local or tourist. I have to go paddling now, I'll take you up on the shave ice, root beer. And come over here, spend a month in Kihei, then give me your honest opinion. And yea, I need advice on being an adult, really........

Aloha and okolemaluna

Is that a rant? You don't have the slightest clue as to what you're talking about when it comes to Maui. I'm out of here the ocean is calling. Hows the paddling and kayaking in DC? You want the facts come over here for a few months, and then form an opinion. What would I know, I'm not even an adult.

Aloha

Post #123 certainly qualifies and there where this discourse originates.

.

That's fine because I have not said anything specific with regards to Maui. I have commented and your attitude towards tourists by 1) Tagging it immature, which is is and 2) Trying to explain to you that tourists are pretty much the same anywhere. Tourists, traffic and development are common problems throughout the world. You do not have the monopoly on those. And maybe the tourists don't like you.

Quite good although restricted to the sometimes treacherous Potomac River.

Been there already. I liked it very much. No imminent return as there are new frontiers to explore.

Ok, this thread has been open since May. Lots of interesting conversations have taken place within. It's now turned into a volley between two parties. Let's give this discussion a rest for now and the topic itself may eventually be reincarnated in a new thread sometime down the road.

Thanks to all who've participated.
