Oh, all these pictures of the da local food and da big island.. make me so homesick.. Lived on Big Island for 5 years and also lived Oahu and Maui! Such a beautiful area, Hawai'i is! So much aloha..
Oh, I so miss the people and the laid back lifestyle there too! And NO heating bills! Yeah! I wish I cud find somewhere that had Taco Poke salad... it has the octupus and the seaweed in it..
Nowhere on the mainland do they seem to serve this at all! And the sushi is just NOT the same either.. I loved the Mahi Mahi sandwich stands they had on the big island.. So good & so fresh...

Don't mean to be judging you but Queen's Bath is on the big Island
and I do NOT think it exists anymore due to the volcano flow. When we went there years ago, it was quite a bit inland, and not anywhere NEAR the ocean.... and it was not that large either.. maybe 15 feet across by 20 feet at best.. really more like a small swimming pool than anything...
I am not sure where this spot is. Queen's Bath is on the Big Island, not Kauai... but this is pretty spot, nonetheless.. If you find out just what this spot is, please let us know.. Love to go visit there.

Have interesting story to tell you. When I lived Big Island, we had a guy from Maui who was in our plane club. He told this story that there was this old guy in Hana at the airstrip whom he had helped out with his plane a few times.
The guy's name was Charley. It turned out the guy was actually Charles Linberg! Yeah, Charles & his wife lived on Maui for several years.....

I remember when I did my first x-country in Hawaii, had to fly over the ocean to Maui.. Landed in Kihei, I think.. Man, what a cross-wind that airstrip had.. Almost ground looped the plane! Ended up tying down the a/c with like baling wire or strapping tape cuz it was too rough to fly back. Even the airline pilots were having trouble and dropping several hundred feet that day, hitting air pockets.
All these photos bring back so many cool memories. Think i will leave this page up on my computer all nite.. So fun to wake up and see these images!

There are (at least) two, while having seen neither in person, I have been coming across both with quite a big of regularity in my web wanderings. Wonderful pictures USER876! can't wait to see some of the Kauai sights you have shared with us when we visit in January.

The photo below, Queen's Bath, is definitely on Kauai, on the North Shore. The point in the far background is Bali Hai, featured in the movie South Pacific, which is being re-publicized this week as Mitzi Gaynor, who played the Navy Nurse Nellie Forbush in the movie, returns to Kauai after fifty years.
