More Big Island photos
The following 2 photos were taken in Holualoa Village, 10 minutes upcountry from Kailua-Kona on the slopes of Mount Hualalai. This is the semi-famous Kona Hotel, which has quite an interesting history.
Wild turkeys on the road to Holualoa
The original statue of King Kamehameha in Kapa'au, thought to have been lost at sea but later recovered, followed by a shot of the main street. I love this town and little Hawi, both in North Kohala.
Pu'ukohala Temple, built by King Kamehameha in 1790. Located in South Kohala overlooking the Maui Straits, it has been partially restored and is used for rituals. Tourists are asked to respect it as a holy place and stay out. Pu'ukohala means "Whale Hill", and this is indeed a great area for spotting whales.
Kamuela Town, my favorite place.
Aloha nui...

My Orchids
My orchids have started to bloom, so here's a particularly nice one. The owl is to scare off the Bul-Buls who eat the buds. Same goes for the old CDs.

Sunset in Kihei. Not best quality - was taken with cheesy camera.
